Held March 1st | Forsyth Conference Center

The 400 North Association of REALTORS® held the 2017 Circle of Excellence on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming. The most outstanding group of REALTORS® in North Georgia's real estate industry gathered to celebrate excellence during the past year at this banquet. Circle of Excellence Chair and Master of Ceremonies, Steve Glawe, along with Circle of Excellence Vice Chair Tom Becker and President Liz Bosker, oversaw a lively and entertaining evening. After the program, attendees danced the night away.

This year's Circle of Excellence recognized over 200 members including 10 who reached a Phoenix milestone. This is a testament to the health and vitality of real estate in Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties. We congratulate all of this year's COE Members!

Biennial Code of Ethics Training Deadline: December 31, 2018

Between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018 every REALTOR® is required to complete 2 ½ hours of Code of Ethics training and report it to your local Association/Board. REALTORS® who joined the association after January 1, 2017 and have since completed the required New Member Code of Ethics training, have already fulfilled this training requirements. All other members must complete the training by December 31, 2018 to continue their membership with the 400 North Association of REALTORS®.

Annual Holiday Luncheon Held December 1st

The 400 North Board held our Annual Holiday Luncheon at the Forsyth Conference Center on Friday, December 1st. Each year, this event is held to network with our peers and to support our communities by collecting toys for those less fortunate. In addition, we chose to celebrate and honor the many volunteers who make our organization so successful.

Highlights From the NAR Board of Directors Meeting
After visiting members of Congress and the U.S. Senate, the important business of the NAR takes place. On Saturday, May 20, the NAR Board of Directors met to discuss pressing issues for REALTORS and our industry. The BOD debated matters such as changing the structure of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), opposing rent control measures and implementing legislation to prevent frivolous ADA lawsuits.
2017 Legislative Recap

DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond paid a visit to a combined meeting of the Government Affairs Committees (GAC) from the residential and commercial boards. CEO Thurmond discussed issues that affect the real estate industry, such as economic development, the water crisis and transportation.
